According to the New Economics Foundation, Costa Ricans have the highest reported life satisfaction in the world. They also live longer than Americans (78.5 years), yet their ecological footprint is one quarter of the size of cats to the north. That explains why I hardly ever meet Costa Rican immigrants in the States.
